How To Block An Attic Cavity

Cavities in your attic, walls, and building envelope can create a lack of energy efficiency in your home. Take a look at a common procedure we use to create effective air stops and prevent air leaking in attics across the country.

What we’ve discovered here is we’ve got a large air cavity or a “wall cavity” from the home envelope passing straight up into the attic.

You may come across things like this from time to time which is why you need to be equipped with fiberglass batting to create air stops. So what we’re going to do is cut some fiberglass batting and friction fit it into this cavity to create an air block and prevent all that air leaking up into the attic
